Size Guide

Finding the perfect fit is easy when you know your measurements! At LillyWears, we want you to feel confident ordering the right size the first time. This guide will walk you through exactly how to measure yourself and choose the best size for your body.
Why measuring matters: Our items follow international sizing standards, which can run 1-2 sizes smaller than typical US sizing. Taking 2 minutes to measure yourself now can save you weeks of waiting for an exchange.
Important: Check Before You Order
Size exchanges take time. Keep It Swap takes 13-20 business days and costs $12.99 shipping, while traditional exchanges take 4-6 weeks total. Getting it right the first time means you'll have the perfect fit delivered straight to your door.

How to Measure Yourself
For the most accurate measurements, follow these steps carefully. Trust us, it's worth taking a few extra minutes to do this right.
What you'll need:
- Soft measuring tape (fabric or flexible)
- A mirror
- Someone to help (optional but recommended)
- Wear fitted clothing or just underwear
Best practices:
- Measure directly against your skin or over thin, fitted clothing
- Keep the tape parallel to the floor
- The tape should be snug but not tight - you should be able to fit one finger underneath
- Stand up straight with your arms relaxed at your sides
- Breathe normally - don't hold your breath or suck in
- Take each measurement 2-3 times to ensure accuracy
Key Measurements
1. Bust Measurement
Measure the fullest part of your bust. Wrap the measuring tape around the fullest part of your chest, usually across the nipples. Keep the tape parallel to the floor, not angled up or down. The tape should lay flat against your back. Stand with your arms down and relaxed. Don't pull the tape too tight - it should rest comfortably.
Common mistake: Measuring above or below the fullest part. Always measure at the widest point.
2. Waist Measurement
Find your natural waistline by bending to the side. Where you crease is your natural waist, usually about 1-2 inches above your belly button. Wrap the tape around this point, keeping it parallel to the floor. Keep the tape snug but not tight. Don't suck in - breathe normally.
Common mistake: Measuring at the belly button instead of the natural waist, which is higher and narrower.
3. Hip Measurement
Stand with your feet together and wrap the tape around the fullest part of your hips and buttocks. This is usually 7-9 inches below your natural waist. Keep the tape parallel to the floor and make sure it isn't twisted in the back.
Common mistake: Measuring too high. Go lower than you think and measure at the widest point of your bottom.
4. Underbust Measurement
For bodysuits and shapewear with bust support, wrap the tape directly under your bust where your bra band sits. Keep the tape snug and parallel to the floor. This measurement helps determine band size for items with built-in support.
5. High Hip Measurement
For high-waist shapewear, measure about 3-4 inches below your natural waist. This is usually where your hip bones are most prominent. Keep tape parallel to the floor.
6. Thigh Measurement
Stand with feet shoulder-width apart and measure around the fullest part of one thigh, usually 2-3 inches below your crotch. Keep the tape parallel to the floor. Don't flex - keep your leg relaxed.
7. Inseam
For full-leg shapewear, stand straight with feet together and measure from your crotch point down the inside of your leg to your ankle bone. This helps determine if full-length styles will be the right length for you.
8. Height and Weight
These help us recommend the best size when you're between measurements. Measure height without shoes, standing against a wall. Weigh yourself in the morning for most consistent results.
How to Choose Your Size
Step 1: Take Your Measurements
Use the guide above to measure your bust, waist, and hips accurately.
Step 2: Find Your Product
Use our Product Size Chart Selector at the top of this page, or go to the product page and click the Size Chart tab.
Step 3: Compare Your Measurements
Match your measurements to the size chart. Always go by measurements in inches or cm, not by the letter size.
Step 4: Between Sizes? Here's What to Do
If you're between sizes, here's how to decide. For firmer compression and sculpting, choose the smaller size, but keep in mind it may be less comfortable for all-day wear. For all-day comfort, choose the larger size, which gives lighter hold but is more wearable. If your bust and hips are different sizes, choose based on your larger measurement.

Sizing Tips by Product Type
Shapewear and Bodysuits
Shapewear should feel snug but not restrictive. You should be able to breathe comfortably and move freely. If you're new to shapewear, consider sizing up for your first piece. Remember, compression is good, but circulation cutoff is not.
High-Waist Styles
Measure your natural waist and high hip. These styles should sit at or just above your belly button. If you have a longer torso, you may need to size up.
Thigh-Shaping Styles
Thigh measurement is crucial here. If you have muscular thighs, consider sizing up. The leg bands should feel snug but not dig in.
Bust Support Styles
Use both bust and underbust measurements. If you're between cup sizes, your bust measurement will guide you. Check product reviews for fit feedback from similar body types.
Full-Body Styles
These require the most measurements: bust, waist, hips, thigh, and height. Inseam matters, especially if you're very tall or short. Check reviews for length feedback. When in doubt, go up one size for comfort.
Sizing FAQs
Why does LillyWears sizing run small?
Many of our products are made using international sizing standards, which can run 1-2 sizes smaller than typical US sizing. Always check the measurements in the size chart rather than assuming your usual letter size.
What if I'm between sizes?
Contact us! Send your measurements to [email protected] and we'll give you a personalized recommendation based on the specific product and your body type.
Can I exchange if the size doesn't fit?
Yes! We offer two options. Keep It Swap lets you keep the original item and pay $12.99 shipping to get the new size in 13-20 days. Traditional Exchange is free but takes 4-6 weeks. See our Size Swap Policy for details.
Do sizes vary by product?
Yes! That's why we provide a size chart for each product. Always check the specific size chart for the item you're ordering using the Size Chart tab on the product page or our Product Selector above.
What if I lose or gain weight?
Shapewear typically has some stretch and can accommodate small fluctuations of 5-10 lbs. For larger changes, you may need a different size. Our Keep It Swap option lets you keep your original item for future use.
